There’s Always Another Door

We’ve planned and plotted and worked toward something. A career, a relationship, a path that we thought we really wanted…we are at the door, but it won’t open. Do we keep beating on it? Do we get a pry bar and try to force it open? Maybe for a while…but then we notice another door beside it, a door with a soft light shining through the cracks, maybe the smell of baking bread, some barely audible lofi music. It looks different…it’s not what we had been picturing, but here we are, with a new option.

We can get upset that our original door doesn’t seem to be opening, or we can get curious and excited that something else has been put in our path. Perhaps what’s behind this second door is good, and right, and less of a struggle. If we can drop our expectation, our guidance might show us that what is behind this door has much to offer! It’s different, yes, but it just might be the one. We were led here, after all, and this is our opportunity to go with the flow of the universe, moving in the path of least resistance. Trust that this door will bring us so much more than we even knew was possible.
